The Penrith Panthers have told coach Anthony Griffin that his services are not required beyond this season.
Griffin could leave as soon as this week, four years out from the finals series. Assistant coach Cameron Ciraldo is expected to fill the void for the rest of the season.
After a season review, the board concluded that he is unable to take the Panthers to their first premiership in over 14 years.
Issues have been brewing at the foot of the mountain, with today’s news the result of the well-publicised tensions at Penrith.
